Also, for those affiliated with the real estate market on a daily basis (e.g. real estate investors, HGTV junkies, finance and economics buffs), The Flip can’t be missed.
Potter’s purpose in penning this book was not only to memorialize the housing boom and bust, but also to make readers aware of the dos and don’ts of the real estate market. One appealing aspect of this educational text is its simplicity of style, yet clarity and forcefulness of content. It is geared toward the average layman and technical terms are explained clearly.
Much like Wall Street and the stock market, Potter describes ways to earn a profit regardless of the state of the housing market. Potter defines the “flip” as a low-risk/high-return investment strategy that works for the conservative investor or the aggressive spender working with multiple properties. Potter might even be credited with having coined the word Fliponomics. At the time of this review, the term Fliponomics appears only ten times on a Yahoo search. Which essentially means the word is non-existent in the English language.

Certainly the refreshing and innovating aspect of this knowledge sharing is that it is accomplished through the context of Potter’s own experiences in the real estate industry.
