We begin a green future as everything in our homes can be powered from sunlight instead of fossil fuels that burn away our ecosystem. Everything we do has its impact, from recycling paper towels to reusing your coffee filter. The more we pay attention to the little impacts, the more we can change the world and create a new picture.

The move towards environmental living has inspired many who seek to rent a condo to discover the option of an environmentally friendly condo. Although the costs are slightly higher up front, you’ll continually save money on low energy bills, getting your investment back many times over the duration of your ownership.

An environmentally friendly condo typically has energy saving central water, electric air and natural gas working together in an energy efficient system to save you money. When you rent a condo that’s designed to be environmentally friendly, your energy costs are typically less than $30 a month.

A Google search will turn up enough options for green condos, but a realtor will really be able to provide the widest range of options. With a little precision and care, you can often find a green condo that’s comparably priced to a regular condo, and enjoy great energy savings as well.

The collapse of the realty market has created exciting opportunities for environmental condos in Chicago. Many condo developments are just sitting on environmentally friendly realty just for the lack of better options. This creates a unique opportunity for deals, offering reasonable prices on real estate that will only gain value as the housing market regains its footing.

At the same time, condominiums that have been designed with the environment in mind continue to be in demand. Environmental friendly condominiums have become hip, evident by Leonardo DiCaprio’s recent purchase of a green condo in Manhattan’s “Riverhouse” area. Not only does it boast a 24-hour fresh filtered air system and a dog spa, but Leo’s condo development even features a branch of the New York Public Library.

Our lives affect the earth, right down to the homes we buy to contain them. When you choose environmentally friendly living, you are doing your part to save the earth from global warming. A green lifestyle begins at home and spreads through our lives, whether it be recycling the newspaper or taking the bus to work.

Green living is worth the investment. You save more than your electric bill. You save the entire world. Environmental living couldn’t be more close to home.
