As one of San Diego’s largest communities, Rancho Bernardo has much to offer to anyone. Like the rest of San Diego, Rancho Bernardo is sprawling with rolling hills, canyons, lots of neighborhood parks, and golf courses. The natural geography of this area is perfect for those who love the natural outdoors, and want to feel as if they are away from the city. However, although Rancho Bernado can give off this impression, it is actually only a 20-30 minute drive away from Downtown San Diego. It is in the perfect location so that one can enjoy the city life of San Diego when wanted, but live and enjoy the outdoors that San Diego has to offer.
Although a large community and split by the I-15 freeway, Rancho Bernardo continues to take the extra step to make the neighborhood nicer for the community. There are over a dozen different clubs, such as the Men’s/Women’s Golf Club, Garden Club, Social Club, among many other s. With so many types of clubs, any member of the community can easily fit in based on their interests.
Some community events include an annual carnival and street fair that occurs every summer. The RB! Alive Expo is highly anticipated each year, and features over 300 vendors and booths. There is also the Spirit of the Fourth celebration where the whole community comes together to create an all day festivity of a fair, car show, pancake breakfast, parade, and fireworks. These festivities are just a small example of how active the Rancho Bernardo residents are in making the community a stronger place.
Rancho Bernardo is also known for one of its most popular local attractions, the Bernardo Winery. Founded in 1889, Bernardo Winery draws a lot of visitors from all over San Diego. This winery is known for its locally grown wine, and is open to visitors who would like to try a taste, walk around or even purchase a bottle.
