A concept that applies to the real estate market is love at first sight. So if you want to sell your home to a love struck buyer, then make sure you use the best colors.

Best House Color and How to Sell it

Do you snazzy yourself up before you go to any social event? Definitely. You need attraction to form relationships, and the same can apply to your house. If you don’t make your house look good when you put it on the market, then potential buyers won’t be interested in them. Therefore, making all the difference is the color of your house.

When it comes to the best color, there is no right or wrong answer. It all comes down to the makeup of your home and the landscape surrounding it. Keep reading to learn some of the issues to consider.

When you choose a color, make sure that it would stand out and not clash with the other homes. Otherwise your eye could end up an eye-sore.

Colors of the Roof Do you know what color is the roof in your home? For example, it it’s a red tile roof, then go for something off-white. Don’t choose dark green. It’s important to make sure that the paint color won’t clash with it, unless of course you’re going to invest money on a new roof.

Tips for Highlights Use light color to paint around a particular part of the house that you wish to emphasize in order to draw attention to it.

Hiding some parts is also a good idea. To draw attention away from the mundane parts of the house, then use darker colors on them.

Remember that the color you choose will appear washed out on large flat surfaces such as the side of the garage.

Let’s get to the fun part. Make a preliminary list of colors when you’ve considered the issues and buy small cans of each color. Begin applying sample strokes a couple of feet long or a foot wide in a private area of the house. It may be a good idea to paint examples in shaded areas and on those that are exposed to the sun.

As for your experiments, don’t immediately judge the results. Wait for a few hours, until the paint is dry, before you start comparing. Wet paint and dry paint appearances look different from each other.
