There’s something to watch out for in the town of Hoquiam, Washington. A high-end development project is underway to transform its downtown waterfront into something exciting and enjoyable.

In such a town where hardship and perseverance is the only way and not the exception, change is something not welcomed with open arms but must be tested and tried to prove that such a change is really for the better and not just a fleeting knee jerk reaction that will cause so much tradition and love to fade like it never happened.

In Hoquiam town, change is coming, development is being seeded to bring better opportunities and growth to the community as a whole, as it was several generations ago when the town and its people made themselves and their sons and daughters a place to be called home through logging, with the ancient forest yielding to change to bring forth a quality of life still after decades past is celebrated in all appreciation.

It is on this tradition that the towns people of Hoquiam have built their reputation and their knack for survival and fortune, but like any other place, change must inevitably make its mark, not so much so with the people and what they stand for, but with some facets of their towns physical attributes like infrastructure and economy.

A new development of the waterfront facilities will bring forth new prospects for the members of Hoquiam town and new things for visitors to expect and relish for their relaxation and entertainment that will add to the prestige and positive reputation of the town and its people. It’ll also enable the community to keep pace with the development happening all throughout the area such as in the bigger town of Aberdeen in the east with which Hoquiam has an undeclared enmity of sorts.

With development comes more opportunities, more income from businesses, which translate to better services for the community as a whole, changes and opportunities already experienced by the bigger towns to the east such as Aberdeen, whom Hoquiam playfully views as a spoiled big brother of sorts.

Being able to adapt and change is a challenge that many face and few succeed in truly accomplishing, maybe because man is naturally inclined to resist change to what has been tradition and custom. But communities like Hoquiam do not exist just so to decline and fade, it is filled with much memory of joy and love and hope and it is that hope that will bring forth innovation and adaptation that is needed not only for the sake of changing but to strengthen and keep alive the traditions and heritage that Hoquiam and its people value so much and they are right to do so.

The townsfolk of Hoquiam Washington town can lay claim to the fact that the development of their waterfront is something every single one of them can be proud and mighty about, since it signifies their will and their true love for their traditions and memories, that development is a tool to keep what is truly important alive, remembered and appreciated way into the future, much like what their father’s did for their forbearers did when they embraced change and the future.
